Like the original, the deluxe offers a simulated roller coaster designer that lets gamers actually ride their completed creations
Imagineer mode is the mission mode, where scenarios with specific requirements have to be solved, either by completing or building a roller coaster under certain rules
In build mode, players can choose from five roller coaster types, standing, flying, hanging, wooden and steel
The backgrounds are somewhat blocky, as are the props, but the rollercoaster's themselves look very nice
Riding the roller coasters is cool, and gives gamers the feeling they're really on that monster ride they just built! Just as in the original, players can upload/download roller coasters on the Internet and compete for title of Rollergod
This is a roller coaster simulation, pure and simple, not a theme park management game
It all really depends if players are more interested in roller coaster simulations, or in management type games
I and my daughter both prefer Roller Coaster Tycoon , as we enjoy taking care of the theme park, plus building the roller coasters
I would really like to see some of these roller coaster simulation functions added to RCT, if there's a new edition anytime in the future

Roller Coaster Tycoon kind of came out of nowhere to become one of the most popular strategy games
Ah, and the satisfaction of building a huge, exciting roller coaster (and then finding out it is so nauseating that no one wants to ride)
For instance, build a pathway leading to five different roller coasters, slap a banner down that says Roller Coaster Land (or something to that effect) and you have instant themes within your park, or block the exit path to a ride so that it doesnt get too crowded
But theres more to a park than scenery, right? Corkscrew Follies adds a new hat stand, hot dog and candy apple vendors, a miniature golf course, an entertainer dressed as a Roman guard, and more! There are also new historical roller coasters that have to be seen to be believed
You can also change the color of balloons and of individual sections of the roller coasters

German Cardiologist Publishes Results of Roller Coaster Study The American Heart Association meeting in Dallas on November 16, 2005 included a on cardiovascular response to roller coaster rides by Jurgen Kuschyk, M.D., a cardiologist at University Hospital in Mannheim, Germany
